Thanks.

Though you and I disagree somewhat on warning players of the potential consequences of their actions. I've had a lot of fun gaming moments result from players leaping before they looked. If Sedger wants to kick in the door, then I'm not going to warn him about noise.

I may take your advice about asking even more questions, though. It always seemed to me like it could slow down game play, but maybe it would just enhance the effects I describe above.LShttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15495083228566425216noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1849891810204688064.post-38730355968121180692011-12-12T05:44:43.907-08:002011-12-12T05:44:43.907-08:00Hey, likin' this post.

I open the door."

My response would be:
"How are you opening the door?"

And it goes further then that:
"I'm going to kick it down"
"You're going to try to put your foot though the wooden door?"
"Yeah!"
"You understand that will create a lot of racket and will alert anyone behind the door?"
"I don't care!"
"Are you sure?"
". . . Yeah!?"
"Cool, roll your check"

or. . .
"I'm going to turn the handle!"
"You're going to reach forward and turn the handle?"
"Yeah!"
"Are you doing that with your sword hand?"
"Yeah, I'm goi- wait, what?"
"Which hand are you using?"
"My sword hand."
"Are you sure?"
"Yeah, I'm sure"
"What are you wearing on your hands?"
"Uhhhh, gauntlets?"
"Ok. Where are you standing other party member?"
"Behind him."
"You're opening the door?"
"Yeah."
"You reach forward and open the door with your gauntlet covered sword hand. . ."

I really compare my dungeons to super deadly solid state machines, I give as much crucial information out as I do noise.

This list is *great* advice for starting DM's-Chttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02331863932906631618noreply@blogger.com
